As a place of mystery and harmony between modernity and traditional practices in an area of 174 744 hectares, the Volcano National Park Isluga is an incredible impression in the hills with a fabulous animal and plant life that also covers the foothills and highlands in the Andean areas.
Colchane is located in the northeast of Iquique, with the hills Latarama, Tatajachura and Qinsachata (5207, 5252 and 5400 meters respectively), with the Isluga volcano (5218 meters), which gives the place its name, and is an area for the protection and conservation of natural resources.
The park was declared in 1967 as a National Park, with shrubs, cacti and bamboo flutes and tall plants, which are located in the Andes foothills. It is also possible to find plants in the highland's straw and wetlands that are over 4 thousand feet high on its wet floor.
