In the region of Arequipa are the deepest canyons in Peru, Colca (3400 meters) and Cotahuasi (3535 meters). The Colca Valley has become a paradise for adventure lovers, it is ideal for boating, trekking and mountain biking, among others. Throughout the valley, there are 14 villages that have preserved a rich cultural tradition, preserving their religious festivals and folklore. It is also possible to see as part of the landscape, Ampato, Sabancaya and Hualca Hualca.
Cotahuasi Canyon is located on the Andean valley where traditional villages are more than 100 outcrops of hot springs, waterfalls, geological faults and beautiful snowy landscapes and Coropuna Solimana.
The area is ideal for hiking, rafting, climbing, paragliding, mountain biking, and boasts a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. Also, picturesque villages are located as Pampamarca, whose inhabitants specialize in handling alpaca wool fabrics to create artistic carpets, sweaters, among others Callata, is the most attractive people in the area, and is known for its cemeteries settled in the mountains known as "Barrancas de Tenajaja".
Colca Canyon (depth 3660 m): Colca comes from the Quechua word meaning "bread". It is a canyon formed by the river of the same name on its way to appreciate the agricultural domain of the ancient Peruvians built many platforms (terraces), even used.
